Is Your Loved One Missing?
Is Your Pet Missing?
Have You Found a Pet?
We are here to help!
We have created a Facebook Page that houses many of our members. We have synced our Facebook and Twitter pages, so as soon as you post on Facebook, your alert will automatically be posted on Twitter for our members there.
How Do I Post My Alert on Your Facebook Page?
You need to become a fan by joining “The Official Neighbourhood Alert Page”. All links on the site will lead you there, or you can CLICK HERE.
Rules for Posting on Facebook:
Pet Alerts: All Pet Alerts must be 30 days or newer. Our reason is simple. We only want to issue alerts that are urgent. If we begin to inundate our members with year old missing pet alerts, they will stop paying attention. ONLY NEW ALERTS will be accepted. One Alert is allowed.
Missing Person Alerts: All Missing Person Alerts must be Canadian. If your missing person went missing in another country but is believed to be in Canada, please send your request to us directly through our Get In Touch page. At this time, we are not going to restrict timelines. One Alert per day is allowed. Miracles happen all the time with Missing Person cases and we want to help you in any way we can!
Special Acception for Police Agencies
We will accept all your Missing Person Alerts no matter of the date or country or number of times issued. We will also remove any listing you feel may harm your investigation. If we can be of ANY assistance to you, we will. Please GET IN TOUCH with us if we can be of further assistance.
Manditory Requirements for Posting:
a) Date of Occurrence
b) Location of Occurrence. City and Province are mandatory. Street names are important if you can provide them.
c) Description of Person (Name, Height, Weight, Hair/Eye Colour, Distinguishing Marks) or Description of Pet (Cat or Dog, Colour) We recommend not saying much more than this for Found Pet Alerts. You want to make sure the person who wants to claim the animal is the actual owner. Leave out the breed, sex and distinguishing marks.
d) Your contact information. Your Name and Phone Number are mandatory. This is to prevent fraudulent postings.
Postings that do not have the mandatory requirements will be deleted.
Under no circumstances are found persons or pets to be held for reward. Any person who does this will be banned for life and reported to the police.
Optional:
e) Picture. If you have a picture your success rate will be much better in finding your missing person or pet. DO NOT POST A PICTURE FOR FOUND PETS.
f) Email Address: You may include a ‘preferred’ alternate means of contact...but you MUST include a phone number.
Please keep an eye on your posted alert. We may ask for more information to allow it to remain etc.
We reserve the right to remove any posting for any reason.
